Summary/
Abstract
Ayo Babalola is the owner-manager of a mechanic workshop. The business has grown from very humble beginnings. It is now unable to serve all its customers. Staff retention is almost 100% in an industry known for very high turnover of staff. Ayo is considering setting up a second workshop on the other side of town. Can he replicate his success? This case could be used in a module on managing growth, leadership or motivation with owner managers of SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises). Students will appreciate the need for systems and structures including a succession plan, for business continuity.
