Researching the Practice of Management 2
A workshop to improve African research capacity
3 – 5 May 2010, University of Dar Es Salaam Business School, Tanzania
Supported by the Canadian Social Science Research Council, University of Manitoba and the Association of African Business Schools (AABS)
Registration is now open for this exciting workshop taking place at the University of Dar Es Salaam Business School, Tanzania. Chaired by Dr Helena Barnard (Gordon Institute of Business Science) with Prof Sue Bruning (University of Manitoba, Canada) and various other professors, this workshop aims to improve and increase research collaboration amongst African Faculty. The workshop is organized around four themes:
1. Leadership in Africa
2. Base of the Pyramid
3. Finance
4. Globalisation and Africa
Each participant will in advance choose the theme s/he would like to work on.
The workshop will be geared at two levels of researchers.
- Current Research Scholars who have a draft paper including the literature review and the data. This draft paper must be submitted before the workshop
- New Research Scholars who have an idea for research but have not yet taken it further. We would require a 1 -page outline with key ideas regarding data and theory to be submitted before the workshop.
The programme costs are USD$450 for AABS Member School faculty and USD$500 for non AABS member school faculty. This fee includes all course fees, relevant materials, meals, airport transfers and accommodation at the White Sands Hotel.
Interested participants are asked to register online at www.aabschools.com by 15th March 2010 and email their level of expertise, the theme they would like to work in and the pre-work (draft article or outline of research idea and possible data sources) in PDF format with your name, institution and email address to info@aabschools.com by the 15th March 2010.
Please note that an application is not complete until the theme, expertise level and article have been emailed by the 15 March 2010!
