INSEAD African Faculty Fellowship Programme 2009/2010

Publish date: 2009-09-10

The Selection Committee for the INSEAD African Faculty Fellowship has made the 2009/10 award To Prof. Papa Faye of ISM, Senegal.
Prof Papa Faye will spend two months during the academic year 2009/10 at INSEAD, at either of the school’s two campuses – in Fontainebleau, France or in Singapore - depending upon the preferences of the Fellowship winners and prospective INSEAD faculty mentors.

The objectives of the Fellowship are to assist in capacity building of African business schools and to deepen INSEAD’s commitment to being “The Business School for the World”
The Fellowship will cover all necessary expenses related to a two-month visit to INSEAD: travel, housing, and a daily living allowance. The Fellows will be welcomed by INSEAD’s African Initiative, part of the school’s Social Innovation Center. INSEAD will assist the Fellows with obtaining visas and housing. The Fellows will be given office accommodations and limited secretarial support with faculty in their academic area who may serve as mentors. They will be invited to attend research seminars and workshops, and they also may be granted funds for research or case writing projects jointly with INSEAD faculty. With the agreement of INSEAD faculty, they may sit in on classes. Finally, they will have access to all school facilities including the restaurant, library, and IT. They will be identified on the school’s faculty web site as “Visiting Scholars”.

In return, beyond pursuing their own projects, the Fellows will be expected to attend research seminars and workshops, to sit in on class sessions at the invitation of faculty, to interact with faculty, administrative staff, and participants, and to serve as guest speaker in class if requested.

“We are pleased to have made this award, and we here at INSEAD look forward to having Papa with us for two months this academic year.” Prof. Landis Gabel - INSEAD and AABS Advisory Board Member
