In order to become an AABS member for 2009 the following criteria need to be met:
1. Faculty should have a relevant postgraduate degree or relevant qualification
2. Minimum number of full time faculty is twelve of which six should have PhD’s
3. Schools will need to provide a document stating what they are doing to continuously develop their faculty
4. 500 MBA teaching hours
5. Minimum MBA fee of $3 000
6. Forty teaching days of executive education with a minimum fee of $100 per day
7. One refereed journal article per full time faculty equivalent over 3 years
8. Teaching methods: Schools will need a document describing their use of Participative learning such as case studies, syndicate groups, action learning, projects
9. Schools should be able to demonstrate that materials and cases used in teaching should include local and African market content.
10.Schools need to demonstrate the use of an independent quality assurance system on the MBA programme. For example: a national accreditation body, external examiners, quality controlling body.
