This interactive workshop aims to provide schools interested in entering the AABS accreditation process with the tools needed to embark on the journey of quality assurance. It will explain how the AABS accreditation process works, discuss the standards thoroughly, help set real self-review report expectations, teach how to efficiently prepare for a successful accreditation team visit, and, finally, promote a culture of continuous improvement that is relevant, impactful, and sustainable.

The workshop fee is $380. (Please check the terms and conditions.)

Target 

The workshop is targeted at institutions considering applying for AccreSys accreditation and those wishing to get a better understanding of the system. It will allow for an in-depth preparation of the application phase. It is relevant for Deans and Directors, Associate Deans, Directors of major programmes, Directors of External Relations and Accreditation Officers.

A maximum of 25 participants will be admitted. Registration will close as soon as this number has been reached.

 

Registration

  • All registrations are subject to confirmation by the Association of African Business Schools (AABS).
  • Registration is only confirmed upon receipt of full payment of the registration fee.
  • The registration fee is accurate at the time of publication. AABS reserves the right to change the fee at any time as a result of currency fluctuations.
  • Changes to the registration fee will not affect registrations already confirmed by AABS.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation in excess of 20 days prior to the event will result in a 80% refund; 20% will be deducted as an administration fee.
  • Cancellation 10 – 20 days prior to the event will result in a 50% refund.
  • Cancellation 1 – 10 days prior to the event and no shows will result in no refund of the registration fee.

All notifications of cancellation must be made in writing to the AABS Secretariat via email: info@aabschools.com.

The notification email has to include all relevant delegate and event information, including the bank account to which a possible refund may be deposited.

Visa Requirements

  • AABS will provide a Visa Invitation Letter for each delegate, which the delegate must submit to the South African mission in his/her home country in order for a visa to be issued for attendance of the AABS event in South Africa, the host country. This visa will be for the event days only.
  • Delegates must apply for a South African visa as soon as possible. It may take up to six weeks to process a visa.
  • This letter does not guarantee that a Visa will be issued.
  • Delegates are to comply with the host country’s regulations and timeline for the issuing of a Visa. AABS will not be able to assist with short notice applications.
  • AABS will not be held liable for non-receipt of visas.

Accommodation (not included in the AABS Event registration fee)

  • Accommodation is not included in the AABS events registration and/or workshop fee.
  • Delegates are required to make their own accommodation arrangements.  Do not hesitate to contact the AABS secretariat should you need any hotel information.

Transport

 

  • Delegates are required to make their own transport arrangements from and to the airport and from accommodation if they do not stay at Bellvista Lodge (which is on campus)
  • Transport costs are for the delegates’ own account.

 

Modification/Postponement/Cancellation of the Event

AABS reserves the right at any time to:

  • Change the format, speakers, content, location and timing or any other aspect of the event.
  • Postpone the event or cancel the event.

If the event is cancelled or postponed due to:

  • Circumstances beyond the control of AABS, such as natural disasters, AABS may retain the fee and will not be required to make any refund to the delegate.
  • Any reason other than those mentioned above, AABS will refund the registration fee to the delegate minus any reasonable administration costs.

Delegate’s rights and obligations at the event

  • AABS reserves the right to refuse a delegate admission to the event for failure to comply with the terms and conditions or if in the opinion of AABS the delegate represents a security risk, nuisance or annoyance to the event.
  • The delegate agrees to comply with all reasonable instructions issued by AABS or the venue operators at the event.
  • The delegate acknowledges that he/she may be filmed, sound recorded and/or photographed at the event and gives AABS permission to use any such recording or photography.

Limitations and liability

  • AABS, its employees, partners and contractors will not be liable for personal injury or death, property damage, or any other loss, damage, cost or expense arising out of or in connection with the event.
