Summary:The Research Excellence Workshop is a 3-day faculty development programme aimed at faculty who are registered or are planning to register for PhD or Doctoral studies; as well as faculty who aspire to publish papers and articles in accredited international journals. AABS REW will be hosted by UDBS, Dar es Salaam on Monday 12 - Wednesday 14 February.

Would you like to:

  • Refine your research skills to increase chances of publication in high quality international journals?
  • Learn how to deal with the research study and publishing challenges?
  • Increase your knowledge on qualitative and quantitative research methods at advanced levels (assumes knowledge of basic research methods)?
  • Share experiences with other participants and learn from participants and expert facilitators?
  • Network with mentors, facilitators and other participants who have complementary skills, knowledge and experience with publishing in high quality international journals?
  • Receive input into preparing a paper for publication in a high quality international journal?

If you answered yes to the above questions, then the REW is for you. 


Prework requirements

An imperative prerequisite is pre-work submission, as the programme design dictates interaction, work-shoping and learning by delegates. This is a non-negotiable requirement.


Pre-work due date is Friday 02 February 2018.

Registration criteria/ requirements
  • Research proposal or developed research idea with research questions, proposed methodology and anticipated outcomes
  • Annotated bibliography
  • Research paper or completed data collection on a study - with data ready for analysis
  • Datasets in analysable form, including a codebook (e.g. Excel spreadsheet)
