Tracy Hauptfleischjoined AABS in March 2016 and is the Secretariat Manager. Tracy has studiedthrough the Institute of CertifiedBookkeepers as well as UNISA whereshecompleted the programme in Business Management. Shecomeswith a wealth of administrative experiencefromboth the corporate and NGO worlds. Afterworking for corporategiantssuch as SABC, Cargo Carriers and Foodcorpshethenworked for a number of well-knowncommunity organisations in administration, fundraising and programme management: St Anthony’sEducate Centre in Boksburg, Radio Veritas, and the Jesuit Institute.
In this last rolesheoversaw the doubling in size of the organization and alsocoordinated, over a number of years, a national touring lecture programme thatbrought in professorsfrom Europe, the USA and East Africa and linked to several SA universities. Tracy movedfrom the corporateworld into the NGO fieldbecause of herdesire for social justice and her passion for Africa, its people and theirupliftment. She first becameinvolvedwith GIBS throughherinvolvement in the BizSchool programme for disadvantaged post-Matrics; shealsopioneered a programme of mentoring and service learning for undergraduatestudentsfromFordhamUniversity New York at the University of Pretoria. Her move to AABS willallowher to see more of the African continent and the people about whomshefeelssopassionate.
